About

DocuSped, developed specifically for Vermont, is continually refined for the requirements of Vermont schools. We know Vermont schools and Vermont Special Education needs, because we live it every day.

Established in Vermont in 2000

In 2000, Richard Smith launched SpedDoc special education case management software, the precursor to DocuSped. He originally developed SpedDoc to meet a need for his Supervisory Union. Over time, the software was implemented in other Vermont schools. In 2015,  Richard partnered with Jeffrey Everett to launch DocuSped, the cloud-based successor to SpEdDoc. Now DocuSped is being used by over 2/3rds of all Vermont schools.

Our Goal

DocuSped is committed to being Vermont's top IEP software provider. DocuSped has all the capability of programs from the nationwide companies while leveraging long-standing personal relationships with Vermont AOE and school personnel. This enables DocuSped to consistently be first in delivering the latest AOE Special Education and Medicaid form changes to a case management system.
